Forests and climate change
Climate change is one of the greatest global challenges of our time. Forests are vital stores of carbon that can serve as powerful tools in combating climate change. Unfortunately, in many parts of the world forest land is being cleared and subsequently converted into agricultural, pasture and mining land. Much forest is also lost to uncontrolled fires. All these activities release the stored carbon back into the atmosphere, contributing to climate change.
Indufor has the well-grounded knowledge, expertise and experience to implement sustainable forestry projects which directly contribute to efforts to combat climate change. Indufor engages in projects that reduce emissions while promoting economic growth, poverty alleviation and biodiversity conservation.
