Process Improvements

Is the mill operating at optimum performance? Is the plant operationally sound or technically obsolete? Am I getting the best return for the money invested? Where along the value chain is value being created or destroyed? These are questions always at the forefront of any plant owner, manager, investor or financial partner.

Indufor has a broad range of expertise in various wood products manufacturing processes. We understand the operational factors that impact on the profitability of manufacturing plants. Indufor’s expertise is encapsulated in two key service offerings

  • Technology assessment
  • Operational improvement analysis (OIA)

Technology assessments are commonly used by financial institutions and investors as part of a due diligence process or in an evaluation on whether to begin or continue funding a company or an operation. In these assessments, Indufor analyses the current technological state of an operation and its technical feasibility.

For OIA the objective is to find ways to improve the financial performance of a plant without major capital investment. The OIAs are an inexpensive way to “tune up” a plant or mill. In this type of project Indufor brings its experienced staff to the plant to observe the plant operation, and analyse past performance data and financial records. The work is collaborative and clients can benefit from considerable cost savings, productivity improvement or opportunities to increase value, stemming from the analysis
