Forestry and the forest industry are still quite fragmented by nature, but there is a move towards increasing consolidation. In addition to corporate consolidation, timberland and plant ownerships are commonly restructured to improve competitiveness. Indufor has been an active participant in the merger and acquisition processes and has advised several companies throughout the acquisition process.
As this part of its business has expanded, Indufor joined forces with another M&A expert – Berhan Ltd. Our joint venture company, Berhan Indufor, focuses on providing advice and guidance for forest industry and related companies in expanding their operations to emerging markets through mergers and acquisitions. The key geographic areas where staff and/or expertise are located are: China, Russia, India and Brazil.
