Aleksandr Valygin, Senior Consultant - Forest Policy, holds a master’s degree (M.Sc.) from the State University of Petrozavodsk, Republic of Karelia, Russia (1984).

Aleksandr Valygin has experience in project management, forestry sector development projects, forestry regulations, international forest products marketing, and business development especially in Russia, the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and Baltic countries. He has participated in and coordinated numerous large public sector development projects with a number of consortium members and stakeholder groups.
Valygin is fluent in Russian, Finnish and English.
