Bill Lu, Senior Consultant - Chief Representative, China Operations, is certified as Senior Advisor in International Business, Beijing (2000). He additionally holds a Master of Arts of English Literature and Tourism Management, Nankai University, China (1988).
Bill Lu was born in China and has worked for diverse organizations in the China CITIC Group before moving to the US. In the US, he looked after CITIC’s forest investments in the Northwest. He then moved to New Zealand (of which he is now a citizen) to look after CITIC’s local forest investments. He has worked for Evergreen Forests as a regional sales and marketing manager, promoting sales of New Zealand pine logs, lumber and woodchips to China. Since basing himself outside of China, he has been wholly occupied in the forestry sector. He is correspondingly well versed in the technical terminology.
His expertise includes a close understanding of the Chinese forest industry and its wood supply situation, both domestically and internationally. He has participated in assignments in Oceania, South America and Southeast Asia. In recent years he has become increasingly involved in the procedures applied within China to assess and value forest resources. Bill is fluent in Mandarin and English.
