Anna-Leena Simula, Senior Forestry and Natural Resources Specialist, holds a master’s degree in forest economics (M.Sc. For.), from the University of Helsinki (1975) and a master’s degree in wildland resource science (M.Sc. For.), from the University of California, Berkeley, CA (1981).
Anna-Leena Simula is an experienced forest and natural resources specialist who has worked extensively with private and institutional clients in Europe and Eastern Africa. She has a long career with solid field experience in forest sector strategic planning, institution restructuring and enterprise-based profitable small-holder/community forestry. She has been a team leader in several forest policy assignments, has participated in many reform processes and has recently been advising a public-private partnership process in Tanzania to create an enabling business environment for private forestry.
She is fluent in Finnish, English, Swedish and German.
