Majella Clarke, Forest Policy Specialist, holds a master’s degree in agriculture and forestry (M.Sc. Agric. & For.) from the University of Helsinki (2005), and a bachelor’s degree in economics BEc (Fin, AgEc) from the University of Sydney, Australia, with a major in finance from the University of Washington, USA (2003).
Majella Clarke has worked as an economist in Australia, Europe, the USA, Asia, and Tanzania on sustainable development issues. Her research, consulting work and publications have encompassed international forest policy, Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation (REDD), forest conservation, environmental aspects of international trade, carbon assessment and reporting, emissions trading, and sustainable development. She is currently working on the Sustainable Forestry and Rural Development project in Lao PDR, and is on the international advisory group of the REDD Task Force supporting the preparation of the REDD implementation framework in Lao PDR.
Clarke is fluent in English.
